House & Estate: Household Staff Operations I Certification

This Level I certification introduces managers to the roles, responsibilities, service standards, and operational coordination of three essential private household professionals: the housekeeper, nanny, and private chef. Students develop an understanding of each role’s scope of work and how managers can establish expectations, communicate household preferences, support performance, maintain professional boundaries, and create consistency across household operations. The housekeeping curriculum covers cleaning schedules, organization, inventory and supplies, luxury fabrics and surfaces, antiques and fine furnishings, wardrobe and laundry services, special household preferences, discretion, guest interaction, and reporting maintenance concerns. The childcare portion examines the nanny’s role within the household, age-appropriate care, family parenting philosophies, emergency preparedness, communication with parents, confidentiality, changing family needs, travel, and collaboration with governesses, tutors, housekeepers, chefs, and other household professionals. Private culinary operations introduce the chef’s responsibilities, family preferences, dietary requirements, menu planning, ingredient sourcing, kitchen organization, food storage, inventory rotation, allergies, food-safety practices, and coordination with nutrition and wellness professionals. Throughout the course, students learn how these roles interact and how effective communication, clearly defined responsibilities, flexibility, discretion, and collaboration contribute to seamless household service. Upon successful completion of the course requirements, students will receive the House & Estate: Household Staff Operations I Certification.
